The way the ground has been on the Pimlico Race Course grass during the ongoing rainstorm that has been Preakness Stakes (G1) week, it’s been pretty clear during races who gets a hold of the heavy surface and who does not.
Alex Campbell Jr.’s homebred Ultra Brat unquestionably handled the tiring, boggy turf course May 19 in the $150,000 Gallorette Stakes (G3T). The others? Not so much.
