Mr. Amore Stable won a pair of graded stakes races at different tracks within a 30-minute span on Saturday afternoon. First, Vision Perfect took the Parx Dash, and then homebred Firenze Fire blew away the field in the Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes. The 3-year-old son of Poseidon’s Warrior, ridden by Irad Ortiz for trainer Jason Servis, completed the one-turn mile at Belmont Park in 1:33.74. Firenze Fire was the second-choice at 5-2, finishing nine lengths ahead of 10-1 Seven Trumpets. The 7-5 favorite Mendelssohn finished a tiring third.
“That was great. I’ve been dying to cut him back, just dying. We thought he’d run good,” said Servis.
